Mintage: 10,000 CuNi, 500 .925 silver (see Limited Editions)

Notes: Of five blockhouses built during the War of 1812 to protect St. Andrews, only one remains (see footnote 5 in About This Site). This designated National Historic Site also appears on the 1995 and 2012 coins.

1977: The Algonquin Hotel

Mintage: 15,000 CuNi, 500 .925 silver (see Limited Editions)

Notes: Built in 1888, the original structure was destroyed by fire, then rebuilt as a summer resort (5). This St. Andrews landmark is also commemorated on the 1989 and 2013 coins.

1978: Charlotte County Court House

Materials: Cupro-nickel (CuNi)

Mintage: 15,000

Notes: The Royal Coat of Arms over the portico is a prominent feature of this building. Built in 1840 and still in use today, this Courthouse has been in service longer than any other in Canada (5).

Notes: Constructed in 1824, this church features a carved Green Oak, representing Greenock, Scotland, on its steeple (5).
