This year's coin: Ross Memorial Museum - Chestnut Hall

The 2024 St. Andrews Trade Token recognizes the 200th anniversary of Ross Memorial Museum - Chestnut Hall. The 2024 coin features:

a face value of five dollars

bimetal composition (zinc alloy and brass) with emameled face

a limited mintage of 1,500 coins

2024: Silver Edition

Materials: 0.999 pure silver

Mintage: 50

The first in the series

1976: The Blockhouse

With its first mintage in 1976, the St. Andrews Trade Token (once known as Trade Dollar) Series has the longest string of consecutive annual publication in Canada. The coins are fun for collectors, and more importantly, they celebrate the establishment and development of the historically significant Canadian town of St. Andrews.

The 1976 edition, produced at the Royal Canadian Mint, featured a special silver edition (see Special Editions section). The Town of St. Andrews marketed the Trade Dollar with a special poster displayed in store front windows. Many thanks to Lee Snyder for providing the image:
